On this journey you will have the opportunity to reconnect with your SELF in a process of detoxification of the body and mind. Through assisted intermittent fasting, ancient cleansing techniques such as shanka prakshalana and kriyas, this journey will be much more than a yoga retreat. The retreat is built up in three phases:

– preparing for the process
– letting go
– finding inner resources and establishing them

This journey will be supported by a simple and grounding lifestyle, guided by individual counseling, restorative massage treatments, therapeutic yoga classes, breathing and meditation techniques, group discussions as well as integration workshops throughout 6 transforming days. We accept only 6 people as we want to give you all our attention and give you the opportunity to relax fully and get a thorough restart in your life.

Shanka prakshalana is a yogic technique for a full intestinal cleanse and is a wonderful restart for the body and mind. It might sound like a strange process, but is actually simple and easy to do. Our bodies are bombarded with incredible amounts of toxic chemicals and giving a thorough cleanse once a year is just natural. After the cleanse you’ll be eating easily digestible vegetarian food and fast intermittently for the length of the retreat and introduce the rest of the foods gradually back into your diet. NB! It is important to let the us know about your health conditions. In case shanka prakshalana is not suitable for you, a different procedure of asanas to aid the digestion process will be given.

Cancellations before 11th of August 2022, the rest of the workshop fee will be refunded (except registration fee), after this date no more refunds will take place.

We will detox from smartphones and other gadgets, all devices will be collected on the first day and returned at the end of the retreat. The flow of the retreat

This retreat has a unique set-up and is our long-awaited dream to offer a true yoga rehab. You start with preparing your body and mind with intestinal cleanse to increase the readiness to let go of emotions, ideas, tensions which are not serving you anymore. After the letting go process with yogic techniques and the emotion release workshop, you will proceed to find supporting inner resources within you to be able to move on to the next chapter of your life with more ease and grace. This process will be guided by us and supported with easily digestible food, simple and grounding lifestyle, massage and individual therapy.

Therapeutic yoga

Therapeutic yoga is an ancient technique based on the traditional Ashtanga Yoga of Patanjali, where techniques like kriyas (cleansing techniques), bandhas (direction of vital energy), asanas (posture awareness), pranayama’s (regulation of vital energy through breathing), yoga nidra (deep relaxation), concentration and  meditation are practiced in a safe calm environment. In each class, the practitioner develops more awareness of oneself in a progressive alignment of the body and mind. It is an intense self transformation, which opens up to new life perspectives. The techniques are designed to help you shed the old, digest your emotions and prepare for a change.

Individual therapy

Each student will receive 60 minutes of individual therapy (with Manuela) to get help with untangling one’s life situation, recurring behavioral patterns or stuck emotions. Solutions are available within every person, the only aspect, which keeps you from moving on, is your current state, which can be changed. What is in you, which you are ready to live without? What kind of limiting behavioral pattern or belief and thought system is still stuck with you? Manuela uses neuro-linguistic programming, emotion release techniques, cognitive behavioral and constellation therapy.

Massage Therapy

Each student will receive 60 minutes of Restorative Massage (from Thais). Restorative Massage is a deep tissue treatment where through specific maneuvers applied on the muscles, stagnant emotions are released opening up the energetical body for a restoration of one’s well being. Thais is an experienced bodywork practitioner for more than 15 years and she uses massage techniques, foot reflexology, Reiki, archetypal treatment to read people’s body and needs to help them individually.


Easily digestible, vegetarian food will be served as early lunch and dinner. This is important because intense practices will be before breakfast and lunch, and sedentary activities in the late afternoon. The bigger digestion will be in the first half of the day as the body is more active that time and the evenings will be lighter to induce a better sleep at night. In this way, the body will regenerate, repair and heal during the night and not direct its energy into the digestive process. This will ensure a lighter and easier pranayama and yoga practice the next day.

The food will be full vegetarian without gluten, lactose and casein. It will be prepared fresh, raw, boiled, steamed or as a stew. The greater part will be vegetables, smaller part wholegrains and legumes, without onion, garlic or strong spices. Herbal tea and water will be available throughout the day, no coffee. In case you are sensitive, you can stop drinking caffeine drinks a week before the retreat to deal with the detox process. Let us know about your food sensitivities in the registration form.


Comfortable suites with 2 and 3 single beds accommodates two people per room. In case you are a group of 3 friends, you can choose to share the same bedroom. The rooms have mosquito nets, heating system, ensuite bathrooms, comfortable beds and windows facing the swimming pool. Yoga mats, props, sheets, pillows, blankets and towels will be provided.

Palmas Lodge is a country house located in Aljezur, in the charming Costa Vicentina where the sun is present for at least 300 days of the year.  A quiet and cozy place, in the midst of nature, close to the Vale Figueiras Beach and a few minutes from the village of Aljezur and several other beaches.

Palmas Lodge is 110 km from the Faro Airport. We can arrange a group pick-up from the airport on the 19th of September at 12:30. The van accommodates 6 people (€ 135 in total, € 22,50 per person). Please let us know if you intend to use the pick-up service. Please take in consideration that the price rises per person in case the capacity is not fully filled.
There is the option to rent a car right from the airport, which gives you the freedom to take a beautiful drive along the south coast of Portugal and visit the beaches around.

Yoga therapist Manuela Kollom is a recognized student of Lino Miele. She has studied the Ashtanga vinyasa yoga method with him since 2010, and in addition yoga therapy in Mumbai at the world’s oldest yoga institute. She is currently living and working in Estonia, focusing on group classes, workshops about yoga philosophy, immunity via yoga therapy and individual yoga therapy for different physical and mental conditions. She is passionate about being able to actually help people and is known for her talent of finding the root causes of peoples struggles, helping to solve them.

Yoga teacher and bodywork practitioner Thais Dalla Zanna is certified Yoga teacher and a Massage therapist since 2006. Thais attended the world’s oldest yoga institute in Mumbai, the Yoga Center “Montanha Encantada” in Brazil, the Brazilian Institute of therapies where she acquired the bodywork knowledge. In addition, Thais holds a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition. She is currently living in Portugal, focusing on yoga group classes, individual body treatments through Restorative Massage and online yoga content through Yogalume channel. Thais is a welcoming and caring teacher that enables her students a comforting and holistic learning experience. She regards the practice of therapeutic yoga as an essential tool to comprehend the basics of life.
